Apple and its wonderful products

Last week was surely dominated by Apple and its new Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system, which received only positive reviews. It's clear to everyone that Tiger is way ahead of Longhorn (Apple's Tiger grabs Longhorn by the kernel) and that Apple has scored a smashing victory. What's new in Mac OS X 10.4 and why it is so good, you can find out from the Softpedia review (What's new in Apple Mac OS X 10.4?) and analysts believe that Tiger will make computer users to switch to Macs (Tiger will boost Apple over the 4 percent threshold)

The company from Cupertino also launched a new line of products, iMac G5 (After Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger Apple unleashes the new iMac G5), but also a new mega patch for Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther (Apple launches Security-Update 005-2005)

If you are still having any doubts about Apple's supremacy on the music market, you will be convinced when you find out that even iPod Shuffle (iPod annihilates the competition) dominates the Flash Player market. AppleInsider.com believes a Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger update is already on the way (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1058), but since there was no official announcement we prefer categorizing this news as rumor.

Sober is out there, offering you football tickets, and hackers are bored with exploiting Windows's breaches

The viruses were another sensation of the week and shortly after Sophos announced that Zafi.D was (Zafi-D is April's most active worm) April's most active virus, Sober decided that his time is not over yet and got back in the cyberspace, offering users tickets to World Cup 2006 (Sober is in love with soccer). The security specialists were amazed by the virus's aggressiveness (Sober sets a new negative record). Sober will compete for sure for the title "Virus of the year" and we can only hope there won't be another contestant to the title.

And since we are on the subject, Microsoft should be relieved that the latest reports point out hackers are now targeting antivirus programs and media players. (Toying with Microsoft's breaches is no longer fun for hackers)

Microsoft is focusing on Xbox, and Longhorn will be tested by bloggers

As Longhorn is still far from over and the financial results favor Xbox (Microsoft records a 2.56 billion dollars profit), Bill Gates considers the new gaming platform will be able to take on any other console, especially the ones produced by Sony (Gates sees Xbox 2 as the winner) and so Microsoft has prepared a strong marketing campaign (Xbox and Showtime will launch a marketing campaign).

Bill is upset about PDF, so he prepares a replacement Will Bill Gates defeat PDF? ().

As for other Microsoft products, a new 64 bit Office is on the way (Office 12 will learn 64 bits), and if you want to be the first to get your hands on the pre-release versions of the long-awaited Longhorn, you'll first have to prove you're worthy bloggers (Microsoft will use bloggers to test Longhorn).

If you are planning to write the bloggs from a pirated version of Windows, then you should consider replacing it with a genuine one. Find out here (Microsoft replaces pirated copies of Windows XP with genuine ones)

PDAs are back with a vengeance, and everybody will VoIP

Just as we were feeling sorry about PDAs for being outrun by smartphones, Blackberry has decided not give up without a fight and crowned himself the bestselling PDA (Blackberry is the bestselling PDA), and Gartner assured us PDAs are alive and kicking (PDAs are not done for)

And if you don't know how the phones will look like in 10 years, you should know that VoIP is the future (In 10 years VoIP will dominate the telephony domain)

By then, maybe security companies will solve the problems generated by Cabir, which is currently touring (Cabir is on the road)

Yahoo launches Video Search, and Google let's everyone surf faster

After allowing us to search text and images on the Internet, search engines have decided it's time for video files, and so Yahoo launched Thursday (Yahoo is after the Holy Grail of video search) a new video search service.

And just as we had started to think Google got bored to come up with something new every day, and at the end of the week, the king of online searches decided to keep our editors over time by launching Google Web Accelerator (Power up with Google's Web Accelerator) which we felt compelled to test (Google Web Accelerator in the real life)

Lara Croft has been watching Matrix, while GTA: San Andreas wants DVD-ROM, and Quake 4 will be releases this year

Tomb Raider is back in our attention with the first trailer (The first trailer of Tomb Raider Legend) surprising our game editor who was just to take a vacation convinced that aside from Still Life there is nothing much to write about (Still Life - Preview)

And while we were admiring the new Lara Croft, GTA: San Andreas took us shopping for a DVD-ROM and a video card (GTA: San Andreas system requirements)

The week seemed to pass without major event occurring, when Quake 4 decided to continue the story. (Quake 4 will blow you away). And you'd better play Quake 4 rather than waiting for STALKER (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - still an uncertain launching date)

And in other news...new cameras from Kodak (Kodak extends its C series) and when you'll play the latest games on your 512MB video card, (Video cards with 512MB of memory) isolate yourself from the world with Sony's headsets (The new Sony headsets offer you the best silence).

And just as we were thinking that's about it, Google took us by surprise. (The death and rebirth of Google). It's a sad, sad world without Google!
