iPod's success is clear for everyone, and the competition tries with every method possible to produce the next "iPod killer".

Meanwhile, Apple succeeds to increase its market share every quarter, and the latest member of the iPod family, Shuffle, based on Flash memory, changes the dynamics of the market for this type of memory.

NPD announces that in February, iPod had a 43% market share on the Flash Player market, and in March it increased to 58%.

Shuffle's domination is even more impressive since we are dealing with a player that was launched at the beginning of the year.

Considering that the Shuffle model is a gadget compared to the iPod power-players based on hard disks, Apple's domination on the player market is even more obvious.

Still, the competition doesn't give up and Nokia's N series, fitted with 4GB microdrives, will try to dethrone Apple.
