After one month since the last update that solved a series of vulnerabilities identified in Mac OS X, Apple is back with a new Security-Update, 005-2005, which addresses 20 problems.

The security update is specifically for Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther and for the server version of this operating system.

This update solves a series of vulnerabilities that can be exploited by local or remote attackers who use these security breaches to launch random commands or to obtain unauthorized access.

Since April 18 until now, Apple has published 28 patches for the Mac OS X vulnerabilities.

The new update includes solving some buffer overflow problems in htdigest, some Bluetooth vulnerabilities a DoS bug in AppKit.

Besides these, the patch also solves a series of security breaches from libXpm, two vulnerabilities from the Terminal tool and bugs from programs like: AppleScript, Directory Services, Finder, LDAP, lukemftpd, Server Admin, sudo and VPN.

The security update is available through Apple's Software Update service; a complete list of the vulnerabilities can be found here.
