Ubisoft was set to launch an array of titles remastered in high definition this month, with collections like the Prince of Persia or Splinter Cell ones.

Now, the French company has just announced, via IGN, that the Splinter Cell HD trilogy won't be arriving this week onto the PlayStation 3, as it has been pushed back until summer.

According to Ubisoft, PS3 owners will be able to once again jump into the spy adventures of Sam Fisher on June 21, 2011, when the Splinter Cell HD Trilogy is arriving to the Sony console.

In case you forgot, the collection includes the first three Splinter Cell games, Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, all of which originally released for consoles like the PlayStation 2 or the original Xbox.

All of the games are set to feature high definition graphics, running at 720p resolution, overhauled textures, improved game mechanics and support for trophies on the PlayStation 3.

Ubisoft also announced that if you don't want to get a retail Blu-ray disc with all three games, the titles will be available as separate digital downloads from the PlayStation Store.

Ubisoft has already launched other high-definition projects, including Beyond Good & Evil HD, which appeared for the Xbox 360 and is getting ready to debut on the PlayStation 3, and the Prince of Persia HD Trilogy, which was launched on Blu-ray in Europe and as separate digital downloads in the USA on the PlayStation Store.

No reason was given for the detail of the Splinter Cell HD collection, but we might expect more details about the overhauled games before we reach the release date in June.

Until then, fans of the series can still enjoy the more recent Splinter Cell: Conviction, released last year for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms.
