Ubisoft has just revealed that it will be bringing Beyond Good & Evil HD to the PlayStation 3 platform this May.

Xbox 360 owners already received Beyond Good & Evil HD at the beginning of the month, as part of the Xbox Live House Party promotion.

Now, Ubisoft is bringing its remastered action adventure game to the PlayStation 3 platform, with associate producer Eric Damian-Vernet posting the news on the PlayStation blog.

"Beyond Good & Evil HD is coming to the PlayStation Network in May 2011," he said. "Fans of the 2003 cult classic will be able to relive the adventures of Jade as she uncovers a planet-wide alien conspiracy that is taking over Hillys. At its time, Beyond Good & Evil was considered one of the top adventure games on the PlayStation 2, and soon you’ll be able to play it in HD on your PS3."

Beyond Good & Evil HD brings a next-generation polish to the old adventure game, with high resolution textures, improved character models, enhanced water effects and a fully remastered soundtrack.

What's more, in order to sweeten the deal and make up for the delay between the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, Ubisoft is also running a special offer. Those that purchase Beyond Good & Evil HD in the first two weeks since its launch will get two free avatars.

If you act fast, you'll be able to put either leading heroine Jade or her uncle, Pey'j, on your avatar for all your PSN friends to see.

We already reviewed Beyond Good & Evil HD on the Xbox 360 and said that it is a pretty good remastering of a classic game that, sadly, not a lot of people noticed when it first came out.

If you're a fan of the series and really want Ubisoft to invest in a sequel to the title, then tell all your friends to buy Beyond Good & Evil HD and let the sales numbers push the French company into developing a new game in the series.
