Just as Beyond Good & Evil HD is getting ready to be released on Xbox Live, one of Ubisoft's producers talked about the possibility of a sequel, which has been teased for a very long time.

Ubisoft fans have been pleading for a new Beyond Good & Evil game for quite some time now, especially since the company released some teaser footage a few years ago.

These days, the company is getting ready to launch Beyond Good & Evil HD, a high-definition remake of the original for the Xbox 360, set to be released as part of the second edition of the Xbox Live House Party promotion.

While talking about the series as a whole, Wang Xu, the producer of Beyond Good & Evil HD, said that fans should stay confident and "keep the faith."

When asked by Eurogamer if the HD remake is part of Ubisoft's strategy to test interest in the franchise, Xu replied that it's true and said, jokingly, that fans should support it if they want the series to live on.

In all seriousness though, Xu said that he doesn't know what Ubisoft wants to do with the franchise, but it's clear that if fans make their voices heard through big sales for Beyond Good & Evil HD, then the chances of a sequel increase exponentially.

The sequel to the 2003 game was rumored for quite some time, and Ubisoft even revealed a teaser trailer many back in 2008.

Since then, though, the company has kept a tight lid on things but continued to promise that a sequel is being worked upon.

Until the company decides so share some news about a sequel, fans can get reacquainted with the original through Beyond Good & Evil HD, which is set to be released onto the Xbox Live Arcade on March 2, and, probably, later in the year for the PlayStation Network.

The game will boast improved gameplay, runs in 720p and has overhauled graphics fit for the next generation platforms.
