Canadian mobile phone users should soon have the possibility to purchase a new high-end device on the local market, as Bell Mobility is gearing up for the release of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S II smartphone on its 4G network.

On Bell's airwaves, the Galaxy S II will also add “4G” to its name, as it can provide support for speeds of up to 21 Megabits per second (Mbps), thus enabling fast Internet browsing and downloading.

The Samsung GALAXY S II 4G is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and can deliver great performance courtesy of its dual-core 1.2Ghz application processor, which is paired with 1GB of RAM.

There is also the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display that delivers a qHD resolution, and which can offer an impressive viewing experience to all users.

“In 2011, we will take Samsung's leadership in Speed, Screen and Content to a whole new level,” said Paul Brannen, vice president of Samsung Mobile Canada.

“With the GALAXY S II 4G, Samsung has set the new standard of quality for mobile viewing, powerful performance and slim, modern design.”

Samsung GALAXY S II 4G also features HD video recording capabilities courtesy of a high-quality 8-megapixel photo snapper packed on its back.

With this device, video chatting on Bell's network is an easy task as well, due to the front-facing camera Samsung included into the mix.

Users will also enjoy WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity on this device, as well as GPS receiver, USB port, and Samsung's AllShare technology.

“The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is capable of speeds up to 21 Mbps and exceptionally seamless multi-tasking thanks to its dual-core processor,” said Adel Bazerghi, senior vice president of Products at Bell Mobility.

“It's the perfect superphone to take advantage of the speed, coverage and quality offered by Canada's Best Network.”

The new Samsung GALAXY S II 4G is expected to become available for purchase in Canada via Bell sometime during the following weeks. While no official release date for the smartphone was unveiled, some of the previous rumors on it suggested that mid-July would be the lucky time frame.

In the meantime, users interested in winning a free Galaxy S II 4G should head over to Bell's website here to register for the contest the carrier put in place for them.
