This week, the review department of Softpedia Games is ready to evaluate the following titles: Life Is Strange Episode 1, Game of Thrones – Episode 2, Apotheon,  Deathtrap, Top Eleven 2015 and Sherlock Holmes.

We also have a set of Editorials which talk about the big issues of the industry, remakes and Resident Evil HD, the state of mobile gaming, and the differences between Dragon Age and The Long Price.

The Gamer Diary feature talks about the titles we have been playing and offers more details on their mechanics, while the Incoming 2015 series is designed to show the most important games that are coming in the next 11 months.

The Weekend Reading piece talks about the way John Wick could be used as a basis for a great new title in the classic Max Payne style and we also have an EndWeekGame article that explains how I plan to spend my free time.

The week as it happened

Here’s a rundown of the news that grabbed our attention over the six previous days of the current week.

On Monday, 343 Industries offered more details on Halo fiction and we got access to some pretty cool images from Just Cause 3.

At the same time, CD Projekt talked about the optimization of The Witcher 3 and more footage was shown from the Carmageddon Reincarnation title.

On Tuesday, we found out that Sony Online Entertainment became Daybreak Game Company after it was acquired by Columbus Nova, a Collector’s Edition was revealed for Mortal Kombat X, Bungie talked about the randomization of Xur, and we offered a Quick Look of the open Battlefield Hardline beta.

On Wednesday, a leak talked about the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny, which might arrive on May 19, and there was info about the resolution of the shooter.

Sony reported that it sold 6.4 million PS4s during the holiday season and we also found out that Dying Light got 1.2 million unique players during its launch week.

On Thursday, EA explained the Matchmaking Failed message associated with Battlefield Hardline, Dark Souls 2 got a massive new patch, Netflix talked about the possibility of getting 4K to work on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and Obsidian revealed that it was ready to work on Pillars of Eternity 2.

On Friday, 343 Industries explained that it would allow gamers to drop the new Spartan abilities in custom games for Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft delivered the Xbox One update for the month of February, and Assassin’s Creed Rogue was revealed to arrive on the PC on March 10 with eye-tracking.

Finally, on Saturday, Microsoft announces that it is offering the Xbox One with Kinect for the price of 449 dollars (369 Euro) for two weeks and news got out that the Lost Vikings might be coming to Heroes of the Storm.
