Hello and welcome to the weekly roundup of the most important gaming news that surfaced in the past few days. This week was almost all about future titles that would be gracing a variety of platforms in the following months. In order to create the biggest amount of hype around them we've seen developers release new screenshots, artwork and even take them on tour across the United States. Without further delays, here's this edition of A Gamer's Week.

PC gamers saw on Monday a bit of love from Capcom, which revealed that its very popular Street Fighter IV fighting game would make its way onto said platform in summer. Already released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game sold extremely well as a lot of players were very excited to play once more as Ryu, Ken, Chun Li or the other characters in the fighter roster. We also received some corporate bragging from Rockstar, which announced that the first DLC episode for its extremely successful Grand Theft Auto IV game, entitled The Lost and Damned, had broken download records on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Speaking of Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar didn't waste any time and revealed on Tuesday that, in honor of the Nintendo DS exclusive GTA Chinatown Wars, it would set up a tour of various GameStop stores across the United States in custom vans. When gamers spot said vehicles they will be able to play the game and receive exclusive prizes from the popular game developer. Soccer or football fans were also very happy as EA Sports launched the third patch for its FIFA Manager 09 title, which brings the database of players up to date after the winter trade season. Wednesday was God of War day, as we received a very interesting piece of artwork from the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive God of War III title. The Fire Titan will be one of Kratos' enemies in the game and will surely give him a run for his money due to his sheer size and power. The second piece of news concerning the franchise was a rumor that appeared on the Internet regarding the possibility of a sequel to the PSP title God of War: Chains of Olympus, as the developers of the game, Ready at Dawn, are working on another title for Sony's handheld console. We'll just have to wait and see whether we will get to play with Kratos in portable format once again.

Thursday saw the release of some new screenshots from the upcoming Need For Speed Shift title, which promises to deliver the most realistic pro-racing experience on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall. The pictures show at least three vehicles, a Porsche 911, an Audi RS4 and a Pagani Zonda, and promise to deliver some thrilling experience, which can be seen from the driving seat of the cars. The day also marked a big rumor denial from Infinity Ward, which replied to some speculation about the future Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game. It seems that we will have to wait for the official announcement until we can clearly see what the sequel to one of 2007's biggest games will feature.

Friday saw some very big announcements, quite uncommon for the end of the week, as 2K Games started the teaser campaign for the future BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams title, which aims at developing the story from the first title and revisiting it after almost seven years. All we know now is that something is definitely in the sea, and it has a liking for little girls. Whether it is a Big Daddy or a Splicer, we don't know yet. This day also saw some hype being created around the future Red Alert 3 Ultimate Edition, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The game will be much better looking than the Xbox 360 versions and promises a lot of interesting things for strategy fans who want to use their PlayStation 3 for something other than Blu-Ray.

Speaking of Sony's big black box, I posted the review to Resistance 2, the second installment in the exclusive shooter franchise. You can check out for yourselves whether or not it is worth your time and how it improved on the faults of its predecessor.

All in all, it's been a pretty busy week for a gamer and things won't slow down for quite some time. In order to stay informed about all of the latest news, patches, demos and freeware titles you can check out the games section here at Softpedia.
