Take this with a grain of salt

Street Fighter IV is already a success. Capcom has recently said that at least 2 million copies of the fighting game have been sold since the release date, and, in the United Kingdom, the title has managed to topple Wii Fit from the to spot in the videogame chart, while selling better than any beat them up release since the records for videogame sales appeared in 1997.

Through all the news about records being broken, Capcom has not delivered any detail regarding the PC version of the game, which, at the moment, is only available on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft or the PlayStation 3 from Sony.

Now, one Capcom representative has offered a bit of hope to PC gamers. Talking to Videogamer, Christian Svensson, vice president at the business development and strategic planning division of Capcom, answered “Let's say summer” when inquired about the release date for the PC version of Street Fighter IV. He went on to say that the reception for the title had been fantastic and that sales were exceeding all the expectations and previsions made at Capcom.

It also seems that the publisher is considering bundling the title for the PC with a MadCatz fighting pad, which brings that feel of the arcade game to the personal computer. Most hardcore players are using arcade sticks to play the game on consoles, which means that the cost of getting the game can be easily matched by the cost of getting accessories designed to enhance the experience. Be warned that users are saying that the MadCatz pads seem to have some problems at the moment.

With Svensson letting the cat out of the bag, Capcom should really come out with an official statement and set a clear date for the release of the PC version of Street Fighter IV. After all, summer is quite a long season and we need to know when we can get our dose of Street Fighter.
