14 DAY TRIAL // After releasing the fifth developer beta of the iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, watchOS 5.1, and tvOS 12.1 semi-major software updates on Monday, Apple now published the public beta 5 for public beta testers.
Bringing the same bug fixes and security patches as the fifth developer beta, the iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, and tvOS 12.1 public beta 5 is now available for everyone else who doesn't have a paid Apple Developer account but wants to install Apple's upcoming operating system updates on their devices.
iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, and tvOS 12.1 will be released in early November as the first major point releases to Apple's latest iOS 12, macOS Mojave, and tvOS 12 operating systems, along with the watchOS 5.1 software update for Apple Watch devices. They bring more than 70 new emoji characters and group FaceTime support.
How to install iOS 12.1, macOS Mojave 10.14.1, and tvOS 12.1 public beta 5
If you're using last week's public beta 4 release on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device, you'll receive the public beta 5 update through OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, so open the Settings app, go to the General section, and tap on Software Updates. The iOS 12.1 Public beta 5 should appear in the list of updates, so download and install it.
Mac users enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program will also receive the macOS Mojave 10.14.1 Public beta 5 software update through OTA updates, so fire up the Preferences app from your dock or go to the Apple menu and access System Preferences from there, and then click on the Software Update panel to install the update.
On the other hand, Apple TV 4th generation and Apple TV 4K users can install the tvOS 12.1 Public beta 5 update if they go to Settings > System > Software Update.
