New Hero, New Enemies, Swing Action

Some while ago, Tecmo said something of having a secret project in the works for Nintendo's Wii. As it turns out, they did. At the Tecmo Nite Out, the company announced Project Rygar for the Wii, as IGN reports. This is an extremely anticipated confirmation coming from the developer, as rumors of other games from Tecmo's archives began to arise. But not anymore, since this is the game we were expecting the Wii to get.

One of the familiar installments of the series from Tecmo is Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, a console game for Sony's PlayStation2 first released in November, 2002. It was then an update of the original Rygar released for arcade machines and other consoles. The main item which both gameplay and kstoryline revolve around is Rygar's Diskarmor.

For example: the player can equip with special stones found throughout the game to increase his power and so on and so forth; also, abilities can be found that add other functions to the Diskarmor (grapple ability that allows the player to swing between specially marked icons and pull themselves up to otherwise unreachable areas). Practically, it does all the work, but only if used correctly.

The game is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology, with many enemies and worlds named after them, but it is no God of War.

There's not much to known about the new Wii installment, except for the title's motto (a little childish if you ask me): New Hero, New Enemies, Swing Action, as IGN reports. IGN also says that Project Rygar has a brand new lead character and all-new gameplay based entirely on the Wiimote controller.
