Just focus on making more PS3s

Most of you probably want to get a PS3 in order to play games on it. You could do that or you could wait some more for a new PS3 to come out, one that will be more "AV-centric".

Engadget reports that Sony's Ken Kuturagi wishes to have a device which placed audio and video capabilities first and gaming second. This is what reveals a interview performed by Impress with Ken Kuturagi. He "promises" that Sony will develop a device focused on audio and video capabilities, built around the Cell-processor platform.

He admits the fact that this imaginary device would be much more expensive, just like high definition sets and Blu-ray personal video recorders. Impress also speculates that this home entertainment PS3 based system could cost as much as 300,000 yen, about US$ 2,500.

Ken Kuturagi's describes it as "a standard AV component sized box with a more powerful, power supply unit, anti-shake insulator, twice the main memory, and 2x HDMI to split sound and video output".

No other information was revealed; maybe we have the right to know a little bit more. After all, we are the ones who keep Sony alive by buying their consoles (still can't find one at a reasonable price), TV sets and God knows what else they are selling. They make it, we buy it?

I don't really know if this is of any interest to you gamers, but in a slow news day like this, I felt obliged to report it.
