Sharp has just released their new clamshell WX-T91, in Taiwan.

The key feature of this 3G phone is that its camera function can be used like a normal digital camera simply by activating the 3.2 megapixel camera lens and folding the clamshell back. Surprisingly, the 3G handset does not have an external display. Built to work on WCDMA and 3G networks, the clamshell is packed with many cool multimedia features.

The WX-T91 takes advantage of Fareastone's Video on Demand and Video Push services via 3G. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera, support for Bluetooth, USB, Infrared, a MiniSD card slot (supports up to 1GB), a MP3/AAC music player and a bar code scanner.

Its 2.4-inch, 262K QVGA (320x240) screen can be viewed from almost any angle using Sharp AQUOS Advanced Super View technology. Videos and pictures taken by the handset can be displayed on the larger TV screen thanks to the built-in "video out" feature. One can even play games on the phone by using the TV as the screen.

The WX-T91 is available in three colors: black, red and white and sells for about USD $774. For now it retails only in Taiwan, but it's possible that the phone will be available outside Taiwan next year.
