Loving parent, school promoting video games, Wii and DS. What more could a 6-year-old want?

School isn't what it used to be...Remember those times when, as a student, you were obliged to learn whole pages by heart, mentioning the author, page and paragraph? Well, those days are over, now everything is music, film and video games. What, do you think I'm kidding? Schools actually promote video games as well. Now, 1st graders get Wario Master Of Disguise bookmarks from the local school-library.

Walter, the kid's father sent this in to Kotaku: "My 6-year-old son, who's a big DS / Wii player, was thrilled to get this "Wario Master Of Disguise" bookmark from the library of his (public) school last Friday. Apparently the school library was just handing them out. It's a fancy laminated fresnel-card, i.e. you shift the card and the picture changes..."

Though I'm not sure if the slash between DS and Wii means that the parent doesn't exactly know what platform his kid plays on, or that he plays on both, the 6-year-old is a lucky fellow having a great school to go to (one that promotes video games) and having a father that spoils him with Nintenso consoles (Wii and DS).

I wouldn't be surprised if history books would include as of next year's study a lesson entitled "Super Mario Bros.-A NES classic" as a mandatory one. I can see it now: Teacher: "Johnny, where is the secret brown mushroom of the first world in Super Mario Bros.?" Johnny: "I'm sorry teacher, but I haven't read that part yet." Teacher screaming: "Well then you should have played the game don't you think?" Not in a million years would school be that fun.
