According to the latest news on the Web, the Samsung Trance U490 mobile phone is expected to become available on Verizon Wireless as soon as April 24. The music-centered Trance should come to the carrier's mid-end lineup, as a great replacement for the rather old Samsung Juke.

Those who consider acquiring the device should be able to enjoy music playback through the Bang & Olufsen ICEpower sound technology included with it, as well as the new music sharing feature that will allow them to play back files on two Bluetooth stereo connections at the same time.

The sliding handset also includes a 2.1-inch display that can provide users with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, as well as a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper. The Samsung Trance U490 comes around with 1GB of internal memory dedicated entirely to music files, and sports a microSD memory card slot that can extend the available memory with up to 16GB.

The specification list of the new device also shows CDMA 1X 800/1900mHz Digital Only capabilities, a 3.5mm Headset Jack, Bluetooth connectivity, support for Mobile Email, Mobile Web, VZ Navigator, Chaperone Parent and Chat, as well as V CAST Music with Rhapsody support. The phone's music player can support MP3, WMA, unprotected AAC and unprotected AAC+ formats.

The handset also includes features like Sync music from PC to phone, Text, Picture, and Voice Messaging with Threaded Messaging feature, as well as a series of tools like Alarm Clock, World Clock, Calculator with Converter, and Stop Watch. Given the fact that it is a mid-level device, says BGR, the Samsung Trance U490 is expected to sport a price tag of $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and the signing of a two-year contract or $119.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and the inking of a one-year contract, but it can also be purchased free of contract for $219.99.
