Samsung has launched yet another mobile phone on the Korean market, the Samsung Haptic 8M, also known as SCH-W740. The handset has been spotted before in a series of leaked images, and now the company has finally officially unveiled it, though, for the time being, it seems that the new handset will only be available for users in South Korea.

The new Samsung Haptic 8M comes to the market as a full-touch mobile phone that includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper packed with a series of features like auto focus, face tagging, smile shot and xenon flash, as well as video recording capabilities. Given the fact that this is the first 8-megapixel cameraphone that the company launches in the country, it might see a lot of traction from users, mainly considering the quality of photos it can shoot.

Another nice feature of the Samsung Haptic 8M is an English recognition function that has been designed to automatically translate documents after users take pictures of them. Among the other features of the new handset we can also count HSUPA connectivity (up to 5.7Mbps), T-DMB, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and a business card scanner. In addition, the new mobile phone also includes a memory card slot for additional storage space.

Previously, the handset was also reported to feature a touchscreen display able to provide an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, while also coming around with the company's TouchWiz user interface. The new Samsung Haptic 8M is expected to soon become available in the country's SK Telecom offering, with a price tag set at 900,000 KRW, which would be around $660. Hopefully, the Korean mobile phone maker will also consider making the device available in other markets too, at least for the high-quality camera it includes, if not for its good looks.
