Canadian carrier Solo Mobile has just launched a new low-budget feature-phone for its customers, the Samsung R330. Previously launched by Bell, the phone is the first to be available at Solo Mobile since the carrier re-branded and started to offer Unlimited plans

The carrier is also known for its per-second billing system, which is a standard on all of their monthly plans, as well as for its coast-to-coast network coverage.

The per-second billing system is only available upon new activation on any Solo monthly voice plan and only applies to local calls.

This means that it's not available for roaming and long distance calls for which there is a 30-second minimum.

Samsung R330 is as basic as it gets and doesn't offer its users too many features, but lures them with its low price.

The dual-band (850 / 1900 MHz) clamshell is compatible with CDMA network, it measure 95.2 mm x 46 mm x 18.4 mm and weighs 90g (including battery).

Other key features of the handset include: 1.3-megapixel camera, 2.5mm audio port, speakerphone, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The phone comes equipped with Wireless Web access, which enables users to view specially designed versions of popular sites including sports, weather, news, stock quotes etc., as well as access downloadable ringtones, wallpapers, and games.

When the phone is connected to the web, a service indicator icon will display. Any time the service indicator icon is visible on the display, you are connected to the Internet and will be invoiced accordingly.

Rates and pricing vary according to your service plan, so you better check out your service provider for additional information.

Samsung R330 is available starting today and can be bought for as low as $9.99 with a 2-year Solo Mobile contract or $79.99 free of contract.

This seems to be a good choice for those with tight budgets that are looking for a basic phone.
