It seems that the ready-to-come Samsung i8910 Omnia HD mobile phone will not lose its name entirely. The device was reported recently to come to the market without the Omnia moniker, yet Korean mobile phone maker Samsung will make the move only in specific areas, according to the latest news.

The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD will be sold in some markets under the name Omnia HD, says GSM Arena, stating that the company itself announced the clarification on the name of the device. In addition, it seems that the areas that will not have the handset under this name will still be allowed to call it i8910 HD, which can be seen as a middle way between not having the moniker at all and still having some of it.

In addition to the name of Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, the mobile phone maker is also reported to have unveiled some details regarding the use of the Omnia brand for its future devices. We should be able to see more such handsets released on the market in the near future, regardless of the operating system they will sport, says the company, which means that the Omnia phones will run Windows Mobile, Android or Symbian while keeping their name.

Given the fact that Omnia HD sounds much better than i8910, users in some countries will be a little happier than others, having the handset on the market under this name, yet Samsung hasn't unveiled which areas will be affected by the change.

From now on, the only thing that remains to be seen is when and where the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD will become available, and under which name. Since the device is expected to start shipping in the near future, it shouldn't be long before these details show up, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
