14 DAY TRIAL // Mobile phone maker Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) revealed on Thursday the company's collaboration with the leading provider of easy-to-use, innovative wireless services Jitterbug for the launch of a new mobile phone, the Jitterbug J in Red. At the same time, the company also announced support for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement.
“The Jitterbug J in Red mobile phone is one part of a major health and wellness initiative from Jitterbug and Samsung Mobile encouraging women to “speak up” against heart disease,” the company further mentioned. The new Jitterbug J in Red can assist in the education and can bring awareness in heart disease complications through a series of health and wellness services and applications.
One of these features is “Daily Health Tips,” which has been designed so as to deliver heart-healthy tips from the American Heart Association on the handset. Another one is Jitterbug’s award-winning LiveNurse service, aimed at putting users in connection with 24-hour registered nurses to receive medical advice and support.
“Jitterbug, in collaboration with Samsung Mobile is supporting the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement with a donation up to $500,000 based on handset sales. The Jitterbug J in Red is a sophisticated easy-to-use device that offers users simple menu navigation, instant access to features by using basic yes/no questions, a powerful, loud and crystal clear speaker with padded ear cup, and a bright, large display and keypad,” the company states.
Jitterbug J in Red comes with a 2.1-inch internal screen and a 1.07-inch external one, measures 2.16 x 3.87 x 0.97 inches and weighs in at 4.06 oz. The new mobile phone sports Bluetooth Wireless Technology so that users can stay connected via their hands-free while on the go, notes Samsung, adding that the Jitterbug J in Red is expected to become available for purchase in January 2010.
