He’s said it before and, in the meantime, things have only gotten worse: Robert Pattison is afraid of his own fans, of the Twi-hards. He’s even employed extra security for whenever he steps out, just in case, it has emerged.

Hollywood Life got to exchange a few words with co-star Nikki Reed, who says that things have been getting worse for members of the “Twilight” main cast, meaning Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

As noted above, Robert has complained before about excessive attention to his person and personal life, to the point where he can’t step out for dinner or a date without being papped and mobbed.

In light of this, he decided that the best course of action to take is to hire extra security, Nikki tells the aforementioned e-zine.

“Robert Pattinson loves hanging out with his friends, but Twihards are so obsessed with him he needs a massive amount of security to go out and about!” Hollywood Life writes.

Apparently, he’s not the only one afraid of going out without the security detail.

“Nobody wants to go out anymore, but we are all afraid. I’m not one of the famous ones of the bunch. I think it’s just exhausting for them,” Nikki says.

“I don’t have that problem, but as for Rob, he always has so much security so he can go out and do some more things,” the actress adds.

As we also noted on previous occasions, incidents have happened when Rob was caught off guard by fans, who, in their enthusiasm, don’t realize the damage they can do.

While on the set of “Remember Me” in New York, Pattinson was mobbed and, in his attempt to flee, was hit by a moving cab.

Then, later on, he tried to escape the paparazzi and hit another car. At the same time, he’s often spoken to the media in interviews of how he’s basically a prisoner in his hotel room wherever he goes, because he doesn’t want to face the screaming fans.

Gone are the days when he took his stalker to dinner.
