Norwegian company Opera Software has just announced a collaboration with telecommunications company ZTE Corporation for the inclusion of Opera Mini on the company's future devices. According to the global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, the new cooperation should result in a better browsing experience delivered to end-users.

During the first half of the ongoing year, the company managed to ship a number of 28 million handsets all around the world, marking an increase of 40 percent on a yearly basis.

“Customers seek access to the Internet and all their favorite websites on their mobiles,” said Ding Ning, Vice General Manager of GSM and UMTS Handset Products, from ZTE.

“We want to make this experience interesting for our users by offering them Opera Mini on their handsets. This partnership will also help us to strengthen our offering and compete in the global marketplace.”

According to the agreement between the two companies, ZTE will pre-install Opera Mini on a series of mobile phones that would be distributed on the global market.

Opera Mini is the most popular mobile phone browser in the world, offering an enhanced mobile Internet experience on a number of more than 3,000 mobile phone models.

The mobile browser comes with various features that bring it close to the desktop version of Opera.

Moreover, it packs data compression technology through which content is compressed by up to 90 percent before being sent to the handset, thus reducing data consumption and offering faster page loading, as well as lower browsing costs.

“We are happy to partner with an ambitious organization such as ZTE, which works with more than 500 operators in 140-plus countries. Our synergies will help us take the Web to new geographies and reach out to more people,” Lars Boilesen, Chief Executive Officer of Opera Software said.
