Today, software company Opera Software announced the release of a special version of Opera Mini for the wireless carrier TELE2 Russia, offering users fast access to games, music and entertainment content via the operator's portal. The special version of Opera Mini for TELE2 Russia's customers comes with the new “Unlimited Opera Mini” service package from the carrier, offering unlimited web surfing for only 2.9 RUR (7 eurocents) a day.

According to Opera, the new solution enables its users to charge their mobile accounts straight from the browser, which can be installed on over 3000 phone models.

“Users need not worry about traffic or money they spend every day to chat with friends on social networks, send important emails or read the news while on the go,” the company announced.

The new, special flavor of Opera Mini is set to become available in all regions where TELE2 Russia offers coverage. The browser can be downloaded through heading to m.opera.com using the default mobile browser.

“Opera Mini for TELE2 Russia brings unique experience of communications between mobile operator and its subscribers. This is the first step in our partnership with one of the fastest-growing mobile operators in Russia,” said Mikhail Ilin, Director of Sales, Opera Software, Russia.

Opera Mini comes with a wide range of features that are also available with other flavors of the application, such as the Opera desktop browser, including tabs, bookmarks, password manager and Speed Dial.

Moreover, the browser sports increased browsing speeds courtesy of server-side compression technology the company put in place for it.

“Opera Mini has more than 62 million monthly users all over the world, with Russia recording one of the highest numbers of Opera Mini users. Over the past year, the number of webpages viewed by Opera Mini users in Russia has increased by more than 67 percent,” Opera stated.

On average, each Opera Mini user in Russia views a number of 510 web pages every month.
