14 DAY TRIAL // Opera Software and wireless carrier New Telephone Company (NTC) announced the launch of a special service package for NTC’s 1.4 million subscribers, called “Unlimited surfing with Opera Mini.”
The release comes as the result of an agreement between the two companies and is meant to offer to NTC users unlimited access to mobile web for only 240 rubles per month (approximately 6 EUR) when using the feature-rich Opera Mini mobile browser on their mobile phones.
“Low monthly fees plus the convenience of the Opera Mini browser make this service package popular among young and experienced mobile Internet users,” – said Tatiana Butskih, Sales and Marketing Director, NTC.
“Our users no longer need to worry about data consumption and costs when they read the latest news, check urgent messages and chat on forums while on the go,” she continues.
NTC is one of the top 10 mobile phone carriers in Russia, with a number of more than 1.4 million subscribers in Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Ussuriysk, Artyom and other parts of the Primorie region, as AC&M Consulting reported in July 2010.
“For many Russian people their mobile phone is the primary or only way to access the Web," said Mikhail Ilin, Sales Director, Opera Software, Russia.
“We are pleased to announce that NTC subscribers in the Primorie region got the opportunity for unlimited access to webpages using a safe, fast and powerful web browser that works on almost any mobile phone.” Opera Mini comes with about the same features as the Opera browser delivers to desktop computer users, offering an enhanced experience even when on a mobile phone.
The mobile browser benefits from server-side compression technology that enables reduced data consumption by about 90 percent, while also offering Opera Mini users the possibility to enjoy faster webpage loading.
According to the software company, its Opera Mini browser is already being used by more than 62 million people around the world, on a number of over 3000 mobile phone models.
