As promised earlier this year, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has released into the wild the Nokia Messaging for the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system. The application has been announced a few weeks ago in a beta state, and now it has been finally released for the users of a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone, though there are not too many differences between the beta version and the final one.

According to the developing team, the Nokia Messaging for Symbian S60 5th Edition has been translated into more languages, and a few bugs that it came with while in beta have been fixed in the meantime. In addition, it seems that the next release of the client is already in the works, which means that it should soon be able to offer more functionality than it did before.

Besides releasing the final version of the Nokia Messaging client for S60 5th Edition, the Mobile phone maker also announced that the service would soon become available for use in Finland through Saunalahti, the consumer brand of Elisa, the first operator in the country to release the service for its users.

Nokia Messaging is easy to use, and brings the most frequently used functions right upfront so that users have a comfortable mobile email experience on their devices. With a fixed monthly fee, consumers no longer need to be tethered to their PCs, but can get access to their mailboxes anytime, anywhere – even when they are at their summer cottages,” said Panu Lehti, product manager, Elisa.

As many of you might already know, Nokia Messaging offers users the possibility to mobilize up to ten different email accounts from thousands of Internet service providers (ISPs) and email service providers (ESPs) directly on their Nokia handsets. The service is easy to use, and, once it has been set up to use an email account, it seamlessly pushes emails to the user's device.

According to Nokia, the service will become available for users in Finland starting this month, for a price of 4.95 EUR per month. The company also announced that the monthly fee included the use of Nokia Messaging service, a 4GB mailbox, as well as unlimited email data usage within Finland. In addition, the maker also said that the service would come preloaded on future S60 devices, while also being available for download and setup on existing ones.
