Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced recently the release of another handset powered by the S60 software, the Nokia 6730 classic, which is expected to become available for purchase as soon as June, exclusively through Vodafone. According to the company, the newly unveiled handset includes support for mobile Internet and Vodafone Music Client, as well as navigation capabilities and personal and business email features, while also offering users the possibility to easily download applications from the Web to personalize their device.

“The Nokia 6730 is a great all-round handset - just as perfect for mobile internet users as for music fans who want to take their tracks with them. This product follows a successful line-up of Vodafone exclusive devices from Nokia and is another great example of our collaboration,” stated Peter Becker-Pennrich, director of Terminals Marketing at Vodafone, at the launch.

The new Nokia 6730 classic comes to the market with quad-band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), dual-band HSDPA connectivity (900/2100 MHz), support for Nokia Maps, a 2.2-inch QVGA display with support for 16 million colors, Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, all within a device that measures 112 x 46 x 12.6 mm and weighs 83 grams.

The mobile navigation capabilities that the handset maker has packed inside this device are meant to offer accurate turn-by-turn instructions and can be used both by drivers and pedestrians who need to find their way. Moreover, it offers access to comprehensive point-of-interest databases, while also providing White and Yellow Pages information so that users can easily get to their destination, whether it is an address, a company or even a person.

“'Feature packed' describes Nokia 6730 classic really well. With its iconic design - available in sleek black or white - the device is a perfect upgrade for Nokia 6500c or 6300 users or anyone seeking an elegant device, optimized for mobile internet and navigation. What's more, this mobile comes with industry-leading power-saving features and accessories,” says Gustavo Eichelmann, head of Vodafone Global Account Team, Nokia.
