14 DAY TRIAL // In a push to overcome Samsung's expansion over the US smartphone market, Motorola has recently unveiled a handful of Android devices for all social categories. Ranging from business to entertainment, these new Motorola smartphones are looking very promising.
Motorola Spice is one of the recently announced smartphones, which is more on the entertainment side with a little tint of seriousness. The latter coming from the fact that the phone maker is using 25% post consumer recycled plastics for manufacture.
The device features a slider form factor and includes a full QWERTY keyboard. It is powered by a 528MHz CPU and runs Android 2.1 OS (Eclair).
Motorola Spice is one of the few Android smartphones to feature a slide form factor, full QWERTY keyboard and a touch display.
The 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen capacitive touchscreen features multi-touch support for text input and pinch-to-zoom.
Spice's exclusive Flashback application enables users to view and manage their phone communications and content all from a single application.
The unique application keeps track of users call histories, messages, calendar events and photos and videos, and maps them to a timeline.
The smartphone offers the full Google package, including Gmail and Gtalk, as well as the most important social media services, such as Facebook and YouTube widgets.
Also, with the BACKTRACK, the rear touch panel, users will be able to quickly and easily navigate and scroll through their favorite sites without obstructing their screen.
Other key features include: HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, 3.0-megapixel camera with 8x Digital Zoom and Fixed Focus, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), 3.5mm audio jack port, WiFi (802.11 b/g), GPS with AGPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support.
Motorola Spice should be available by the end of 2010, but its price hasn't been disclosed yet.
