The BlackBerry Bold 9650 was one of the few devices from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In motion which did not taste a leaked BlackBerry 6 OS until now, but this state of facts has just changed, and download links complemented by a video preview are available to prove that.

The build in question is OS 6.0.0.222, which was made available for download for BlackBerry Bold 9650 a few days ago, and which can be seen running on the device (a Verizon version) in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

It seems that Bold 9650 should play pretty nicely with the new BlackBerry 6 OS, even if things seem a little sluggish for the time being.

The leaked OS 6.0.0.222 is said to bring forth all the goodies RIM touted for the new platform version, including the Webkit browser, Universal Search, Social Feeds, or the brand new user interface.

As this article on Crackberry notes, enthusiasts were certainly looking forward for this solution to emerge into the wild, even if it is not an official release.

In addition to Bold 9650, another BlackBerry 5-based handset can get the leaked OS 6.0.0.222 on it (a different flavor, of course), namely the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330, the news site reports.

The handset was announced officially only recently, when RIM unveiled that it should hit the US market via Sprint and Verizon Wireless, the two major CDMA carriers there.

As with the Bold 9650, the new leak for Curve 3G 9330 is an unofficial OS version, and those who would like to give it a try should handle it with care.

Before proceeding with the installation process, make sure that you backed up all data on the handset, just as to make sure that no important files are lost in the process.

We should also note that installing unofficial OS releases ends up in voided warranty for your BlackBerry device.

In case things go wrong, the device might end up being bricked, and those who will try out the leaked OS 6.0.0.222 on either a Bold 9650 or on a Curve 9330 do so at their own risk.
