Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has recently started to offer us a glimpse at what the upcoming BlackBerry 6 operating system would be able to offer to us. According to the company, we should see a wide range of changes in the new platform version, ranging from the user interface to the manner in which one would interact with certain apps and features, but there are some changes that would also affect that manner in which software solutions for the OS are developed.

We had the chance to take learn a little on RIM's plans in this area not too long ago, but it seems that there are a great deal of details that still need be unveiled. The leading handset vendor announced officially that the changes it operated in BlackBerry 6 OS would be observed both by Java app builders and by web developers alike. However, the company still has to come up with details on what this would be all about.

Until that would happen, we can take a look at a leaked BlackBerry 6 OS developer presentation, which emerged into the wild via BlackBerry Cool, and which is set to provide most of the info BlackBerry app builders would be looking for when it comes to the new operating system flavor. The presentation is said to be from June, but chances are that things haven't changed that much since there.

In addition to all the details that need to be unveiled on what the development of applications for BlackBerry 6 OS is all about, RIM still has to announce when the platform would land on the market. According to some of the latest rumors on this, today might be the lucky day, as the company is holding a press event where it might announce the launch of the first BlackBerry 6 OS-based device, the long rumored 9800 Slider.
