Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion unveiled recently a new version of its mobile operating system, namely BlackBerry 6 OS, and some leaked builds already made it into the wild.

Following the emergence of leaked 6.0 versions that packed a wide range of issues, new builds emerged over the Web, reportedly more stable than before, though with limited use for end users, that's for sure.

For starters, we should note that the latest leaked builds, namely OS 6.0.0.214, are available for the newly launched BlackBerry Torch 9800, and for the unannounced BlackBerry Bold 9780 handsets.

The former was brought to shelves a few weeks ago at wireless carrier AT&T, but reportedly enjoyed very slow sales, which means that there are only few users that would like to try out a new, leaked OS on their devices.

As for the Bold 9780, the smartphone hasn't been formally introduced as of yet, though it seems that some units are already available at large.

However, the new handset is expected to become available for purchase any day now, and the leaked solution is said to offer a glimpse at what we should expect for the final flavor of this smartphone's OS to include.

We should also note that, even if the two leaked solutions feature an identical App Version, they are actually different software releases, as this post on Dripther reads (via BBleaks).

For what it's worth, these leaked OS flavors can always prove a great source of learning new things on what to expect from future devices.

However, those interested in downloading one of these OS flavors should keep in mind that they are not official releases from Research In Motion, which means that they might be pretty buggy.

Those who will try to install these OSes on their handset will do so at their own risk, and should consider backing up all data on their phones prior to launching the installation process.
