LG Optimus 3D, the first Android-based mobile phone in the world to arrive on shelves with the ability to record 3D videos, is expected to arrive on shelves in the UK only in late June, due to a not-detailed push back.

The South Korean mobile phone maker announced the delay on their Twitter account, and also unveiled that stock might arrive in late June.

“Hi, we at LG apologize for the delay of the Optimus 3D but we are hopefully due to receive stock at the end of June,” the company stated on Twitter (via).

Apparently, while Amazon UK was hoping for the device to be available for its customers on June 20th, other retailers already confirmed that the handset was delayed.

Clove, for example, announced on Monday that it would not receive the LG Optimus 3D before July 11th, although it was initially expected to arrive in early June.

Amazon still lists the mobile phone with a June 20th release date attached to it, but has it on pre-order for the high price of £599.99, which might not appeal to many users.

According to LG, some units might be shipped before the end of this month, which means that Amazon might indeed have the phone available next week, though there is no certainty in that.

However, those who would be willing to wait a little longer before they can purchase the LG Optimus 3D will be able to get the mobile phone for only £454.80 via Clove.

LG Optimus 3D runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system, and sports a 4.3-inch WVGA display on which users can enjoy 3D content without the use of glasses.

The mobile phone includes a dual-core application processor, along with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of Internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, DLNA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & 3G connectivity, 3.5mm audio jack, and HDMI port.

On the back, the mobile phone sports dual 5-megapixel cameras, for recording content both on 3D, as well as on 2D. It is powered by a 1500mAH battery.
