The dreams of gamers are crushed

PlayStation 3 gamers haven't received quite a lot of titles, which has really emphasized the capabilities of Sony's big black box, but in recent months and in the ones to come, things will certainly change, as a variety of games will be launched for the PS3, all of which make the executives of the company quite pleased.

Killzone 2 is one of the more recent blockbusters to arrive on Sony's platform, as it has introduced players to a truly next-gen, first-person shooter. Now, the game is gearing up to receive its first piece of downloadable content, in the form of the Steel and Titanium multiplayer map pack, which, as its description suggests, will bring two new maps that will be available for play in the multiplayer mode.

The two maps, Wasteland Bullet and Vekta Cruiser, have now been priced by Sony, which has just announced that the Steel and Titanium pack will go on sale for just 5.99 dollars on April 30, on the PlayStation Store. This statement has made a lot of people sad, because they have hoped that the DLC pack will be free, but, sadly, it isn't so.

Besides the news of the pricing, Sony has also seen it fit to reinstate the success that the game has experienced, even though it has already praised it in its response to the NPD charts. The Japanese company has revealed that, “The hit game has garnered the biggest initial success at retail of any first-party PS3 title to date, and will continue to drive incentive for hardware sales throughout the year,” and that it “exceeded our expectations.”

All in all, Killzone 2 is a very good game, but, perhaps, it would've been much nicer for the first DLC pack to be free, especially considering the fact that it only has two maps. You can take a look at a video of them below.
