Killzone 2 was one of the most anticipated games for the PlayStation 3 coming out at the beginning of this year, as it was the sequel to a very popular PlayStation 2 title. It sold very well and, at least according to some Sony officials, it has made a lot of Xbox 360 users switch sides to experience this shooter.

As we reported a few days ago, the Steel and Titanium DLC pack for Killzone 2 was announced, containing two brand new multiplayer maps that are filled with gameplay elements and strategic twists bound to make the multiplayer mode much more enjoyable for fans.

Here are the details on both of them, as posted on the PlayStation Blog.

“The first map in the pack is Wasteland Bullet, and the action will take place on the bullet train that transports goods and troops between Pyrrhus and the Wasteland. The game is a frenzied firefight to wrestle control of the train from the enemy and into the hands of your faction. With the train moving at full speed, players will need to remain aware of the immediate environment as well as enemies – hitting an overhead obstacle at this speed will mean instant death.

The second map, Vekta Cruiser, will find ISA troops boarding a vast ship with the goal to repel a force of assaulting Helghast troops while also protecting the cruiser itself from heavy Helghan fire. The action takes place entirely indoors in a frantic and claustrophobic battle where attackers lurk around every corner.”

Besides these new details, the blog post also reveals that the DLC map pack will arrive on April 30, but sadly doesn't offer any price as it is still being debated by the Sony team and will be announced shortly, meaning that it won't be free, like a lot of fans were hoping.

Either way, these two maps look very good and will definitely become must-buy items for many Killzone 2 owners who want to get more out of their game with the online multiplayer modes.
