HelloSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP Technologies for mobile devices, just announced the launch of its VoIP technologies for mobile devices based on Symbian OS.

Symbian OS is licensed by one of the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers (Nokia) and, to date, over 110 million Symbian smartphones have been shipped worldwide to over 250 major network operators. HelloSoft has taken one of the first of many steps to enable VoIP technology globally for the next generation of Symbian smartphones.

HelloSoft's VoIP technology, HelloDual-Mode, on Symbian OS will allow users to experience award winning power-efficient and fully-featured multi-mode applications.

"As VoIP technology is becoming more prevalent in day to day life, businesses are not the only ones benefiting from it; more and more consumers are turning to VoIP to keep in touch with friends and family from their home PCs," said Mike Whittingham, Vice President, ecosystem development, Symbian. "HelloDual-Mode on Symbian OS will help handset manufacturers bring the VoIP PC experience to mass market mobile phone users more easily and in a shorter time frame."

HelloSoft's products can enable mobile device manufacturers to design and architect products that are power efficient and provide substantial cost benefits. HelloSoft has a range of VoIP and wireless products to meet the price and performance needs of multiple high-volume markets, including multi-mode devices which enable OEMs, ODMs and semiconductor manufacturers to deliver VoIP enabled products with a shorter time to market.

HelloDual-Mode is available for licensing now from HelloSoft.
