HelloSoft announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for Symbian OS. As a Platinum Partner, HelloSoft is extending its VoIP and IMS/VCC software solutions for mobile devices to the Symbian ecosystem. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the open operating system that powers today's most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers today; over 83 million Symbian smartphones have shipped worldwide to over 250 major mobile network operators.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to enhance our VoIP and IMS/VCC initiatives in the smartphone market," said Krishna Yarlagadda, President & CEO for HelloSoft. "By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, we can offer the entire Symbian eco-system the most optimized VoIP and IMS/VCC solutions which are increasingly in demand by next generation converged networks."

"VoIP and other IMS-based solutions have become extremely popular on PCs in the home and workplace, and bringing these applications to smartphones is a natural and welcomed progression," said Jerry Panagrossi, vice president of US operations, Symbian. "We are delighted that HelloSoft has joined our Platinum Partnership program, as this partnership underscores our joint commitment to bring innovative VoIP and IMS/VCC solutions to the growing Symbian OS ecosystem."

HelloSoft's products can enable mobile device manufacturers to design and architect products that are power efficient and provide substantial cost benefits.
