The not too far future should bring to shelves at Verizon Wireless a new high-end mobile phone running under Google's Android operating system, the HTC Vigor, which was already spotted into the wild before, and which has just emerged in what appears to be the first photo with it.

The mobile phone was said to be one of the superphones that Verizon might launch soon, and recent reports suggest that it might also land on shelves with support for the wireless carrier's 4G LTE network.

But first things first. For those out of the loop, we should note that the mobile phone was rumored to be on its way to the market with a dual-core Qualcomm application processor packed inside, one that has been clocked in at 1.5GHz.

Current dual-core CPUs packed inside smartphones run at 1.2GHz and Vigor might be capable of offering increased performance capabilities, provided that it would indeed sport a faster processor.

At the same time, the smartphone is said to come to the market with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display on the front (some suggest it would be a 4.5-inch one), capable of delivering a 720p HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels).

The mobile phone is also rumored to have been packed with 1GB of RAM, and to sport up to 16GB of internal memory when made available for purchase.

On the back, the mobile phone would sport a high-quality camera with dual-LED flash (most probably 8MP or higher), complemented by a front-facing camera for video calls.

It would run under one of the latest flavors of Android, with the HTC Sense 3.5 user interface loaded on it. Some suggest that it might be included in the carrier's DROID lineup, the same as the HTC Incredible.

For the time being, no specific info on when the new Android-based handset would be set to hit the shelves at Verizon Wireless emerged, nor on the price tag it might feature.Until more on it emerges, have a look at the photos available with the phone, courtesy of Droid-life.
