One of the mobile phones that might make an appearance on shelves at wireless carrier Verizon in the near future is the HTC Vigor, a smartphone that has just made an appearance on the NenaMark website.

The handset reportedly sports the model number ADR6425LVW, and might arrive on the market with Google's Android operating system on board, most probably the latest flavor of the OS, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

The name was spotted into the wild before, but nothing was specifically known on the handset's specifications until now.

However, the phone's appearance on the said benchmark website was accompanied by a series of details on the hardware specs that it would include.

Apparently, the new smartphone might include a 1.5GHz application processor when made available for purchase, though there is no info available on the number of cores it would actually sport.

At the same time, the upcoming device is expected to pack an Adreno 220 GPU inside, which, complemented by the said CPU, should result in great performance capabilities from this device.

The specifications list of HTC Vigor would also include an HD display, it seems. This means that it would boast a 720p, 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Info on the availability of new handsets with this resolution did emerge before, but none has been officially confirmed so far.

Provided that the HTC Vigor is not a tablet PC, it should prove a great smartphone powered by the Android platform, that's for sure.

For the time being, however, the only thing that is certain is that HTC is gearing up for the release of a new smartphone that would fit on Verizon's airwaves.

Whether it would sport only support for the carrier's CDMA network or would bring 4G LTE capabilities into the mix as well, it remains to be seen.

Hopefully, all the necessary details on this will emerge in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
