Mobile phone carrier T-Mobile UK is set to make available for purchase on its airwaves a nice range of new handsets in the following months, many of which would be powered by Google's Android operating system.

A quick look on the carrier's Coming soon page would show info on handsets that should land this month, such as the LG Optimus Black or the Samsung Galaxy Ace, next month, including the HTC Desire S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, or in June, for the Motorola ATRIX.

Some of these handsets were already announced as being on their way to the wireless carrier, but we'll take a look at all of them once again, to make sure that nothing was missed.

In March, the carrier would bring to its network the LG Optimus Black, the Android-based smartphone that sports the brightest touchscreen display, as its maker touts it.

The new mobile phone would also include a 1GHz processor for superfast Internet, as well as a 5 megapixel camera on the back, and Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

Also in March, T-Mobile should make available the Samsung Galaxy Ace, which already arrived in the UK at O2 and Vodafone as a mid-level Android handset.

Next month should prove a very interesting one for T-Mobile's customers, as they will be able to purchase the first two Android 2.3-Gingerbread-based devices from the wireless carrier, namely the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY and the HTC Desire S.

Both these devices were officially announced during the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the former as the first PlayStation certified Android smartphone, the latter as the successor of last year's popular HTC Desire handset.

Following these launches, the UK carrier would bring to its network the “most powerful Android smartphone in the world,” as Motorola puts it, namely the ATRIX, which combines a 1GHz Nvidia dual-core Tegra 2 processor with 1GB of RAM.

It should hit T-Mobile's shelves in June, with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo OS on board, upgradeable to a newer version of the platform, 16GB memory card, and computer-like performance capabilities.

All these phones can be seen on T-Mobile's coming soon page here, where the Apple iPad 2, set to land on March 25th, is present as well. Users can also sign-up at the carrier to receive more details on the availability of these handsets.
