Samsung Galaxy Ace is one of the latest smartphones running under Google's Android operating system that mobile phone users in the UK can purchase now.

The new device was announced only recently, and is now on sale on the airwaves of two of the largest carriers in the UK, namely O2 and Vodafone.

Both operators added the phone to their offering as of this week, and both listed on their websites as available for free upon the signing of a contract agreement.

However, it should be noted that, while O2 says that the new device is available for free on all tariffs, Vodafone lists it as free on Pay monthly plans from £25.

At O2, the Samsung Galaxy Ace is also listed as available for Pay & Go users for as low as £229.99.

The new device is quite appealing, that's for sure, as it can offer enhanced smartphone capabilities in a rather affordable design.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, Quad Band HSDPA connectivity, along with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, FM radio, and GPS receiver for location based services.

An 800 MHz processor gives power to this device, offering great 3D graphic performance, and enhancing the web browsing, video viewing and game playing experience that users receive from it.

The handset also comes with 150 MB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. On the back, the Galaxy Ace sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for video recording.

Running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, the handset would also offer support for a wide range of mobile services, including Google Search, Gmail, Maps, YouTube and more.

The handset measures 59.9 x 112.4 x 11.5mm and weighs in at 113g. Its battery can offer up to 11 hours of talk time or up to 26 days of stand by time.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace can be seen at O2 here. The smartphone is listed on Vodafone's website here.
