Sprint's customers might soon have the opportunity to purchase two new Android-based devices from Motorola, namely the Motorola ATRIX 4G and XOOM, both of which were unveiled in early 2011. According to the latest rumors around the Internet, the CDMA wireless carrier might make the powerful Motorola ATRIX 4G available for its customers as soon as next month, though no official confirmation on the matter emerged for the time being.

The high-end device, touted as the most powerful Android smartphone in the world, courtesy of its dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM, was released in the United States on the airwaves of AT&T.

However, although this carrier operates a GSM-based network, rumor has it that Motorola would also be working on a CDMA-based flavor of the device, one that might include support for the carrier's 4G WiMAX network.

Provided that the rumor pans out, we should be able to learn some official info on the matter as soon as next week, since the wireless carrier might be set to unveil the handset at CTIA Wireless, during an event planned for March 22nd.

During that event, the wireless carrier might also launch its own flavor of Nexus S, along with a HTC EVO 3D smartphone, and a WiMAX-capable tablet PC if previous reports on this are to be believed.

In related news, we learn that the Motorola XOOM tablet PC, which was released on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless not too long ago, might become available at Sprint as well, soon.

No exact info on when would the device be released emerged until now, but a photo of a Sprint-branded Motorola XOOM made it into the wild, courtesy of Sprint Users forum member r0fl (via BGR).

Given the fact that this forum member already offered info on Sprint’s MiFi 4082 and HTC EVO Shift 4G prior to their releases, the photo is expected to prove legit, which means that it might not be too long before a formal announcement is made.

For the time being, however, we'll take all these with a grain of salt, but keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
