The E3 2011 conference is going to be extremely important for gamers from all around the world, as not only will we see major announcements from the three large hardware manufacturers, but also quite a few surprises from third-party game developers.

Electronic Arts is set to have a very interesting E3 this year, with plenty of upcoming games scheduled to receive details and be playable on the show floor, while others are going to be unveiled for the first time to the public.

Without a doubt, EA is going to back up the upcoming Battlefield 3 first-person shooter, in order to eclipse Activision's recently revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Among the other games that will be heavily promoted at the conference, we have Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed: The Run or the SSX reboot.

Plenty of titles are also going to be showcased by EA's Sports division, including Madden NFL 12, FIFA 12, NHL 12 or NCAA Football 12.

Electronic Arts should also consider showcasing the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic, as the title spent quite a long time in development, and patience, both on the part of gamers and investors alike, is starting to wear thin.

A concrete release date or at least a fully playable demo should go a long way in proving that the MMORPG is looking good and might still prove to be a worthy challenger to Blizzard's World of Warcraft.

While it already announced quite a lot of games in the last few months, EA is expected to showcase quite a few surprises, with its President, John Riccitiello, hinting at many new projects and titles that might see the light of day at the E3 2011 conference in Los Angeles.

Softpedia will be on the show floor at E3 2011 next week, so you should look forward to live coverage of the event, from all the major announcements to plenty of hands-on time spent with many upcoming games.
