14 DAY TRIAL // DROID Charge by Samsung, the latest 4G LTE-capable Android-based smartphone that Verizon confirmed for its users, and which should be put on sale in about two days from now, is now listed as available for pre-order through Wirefly and LetsTalk for only $249.99. Last week, Verizon confirmed that DROID Charge would go on sale on April 28th with a price tag of $299 attached to it, but it seems that users would be able to purchase the phone for $50 less if they head to Wirefly or LetsTalk to acquire it.
The new DROID Charge by Samsung was unveiled in early January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with support for Verizon's new 4G LTE network, and with Google's Android operating system on board.
This is the second LTE smartphone that lands at Verizon this year, following the launch of HTC ThunderBolt last month, and the first such handset from Samsung Electronics.
The phone comes with a large touchscreen display, a fast application processor packed inside, and support for enhanced network connectivity, so that users would benefit from great entertainment and web browsing capabilities while on the go.
“The brand new DROID CHARGE by SAMSUNG incorporates the power of Droid with the speed of Verizon's 4G LTE network,” LetsTalk notes on its website.
“The DROID CHARGE sports a beautiful 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus Display, an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for video chats. This device comes preloaded with the Amazon Kindle Reader and the Blockbuster Mobile Application, so it will always keep you entertained!
“The CHARGE is also Wi-Fi capable and can act as a mobile hotspot for other wireless devices. Other features, such as a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, DLNA sharing and integrated Google Mobile Services, make this smartphone something to consider.” The mobile phone runs under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform, and offers access to a wide range of applications available for download via the Android Market.
