More than that, they say it looks just as good as the original Xbox port

Nintendo's DS is a very popular handheld gaming system, no one can argue about that. The platform has seen ports from the most various genres, even shooters. But what if I told you that the Halo universe was coming to the DS? Actually, it wasn't me, but Matt Casamassina's recent Wii-k in Review podcast that revealed the possibility of DS owners having it soon. IGN's member reports it is already in a playable state.

Matt Casamassina states in his recent Wii-k in Review podcast that we should hear details about Halo actually running on Nintendo's DS as soon as this week. As GameStooge.com posts, here are Mr. Casamassina's comments: "It's a real game? we're going to lay down some ownage next week or soon afterward by showing you guys that it is a real game."

The same site also mentions IGN sounding "very intent on really showing the naysayers that Halo for the DS is, or at least was, a real playable game in the vain of Metroid Prime Hunters with pseudo-X-Box-one visuals." Sorry... what was that again? I think I've got something stuck in my ear, I didn't hear that right.

I have to say, Halo for the DS sounds great and all, but that Xbox visuals thing... I'm not buying it. Really now, the PSP has difficulty in rendering environments just as well as the original Xbox from Microsoft, and everyone can agree that, although the PSP doesn't beat the DS in sales, it's far more powerful as a system. Then again, maybe they managed to do something different this time. I don't know, maybe Nintendo provided a better technology to squeeze everything out of that DS.

Anyway, the fact is that the DS is getting it, and not the PSP, so who cares whether the PSP is more powerful or not, as long as it's not getting Bungie's FPS. That is if Bungie will ever be handling the handheld port too, which I don't think they will really. Not all of it anyway.
