The company is moving from Redmond to New York City or San Francisco

Soon after a report saying that Nintendo of America planned to relocate its sales as well as marketing staff to New York City/San Francisco (the company is currently situated in Redmond), a more recent report indicates that around 90 percent of those affected by the move, have decided to not follow the same route.

According to GameInformer's sources, "approximately 90% of the Nintendo of America Sales and Marketing Staff has decided not to make the move to either San Francisco or New York, thereby taking a severance and leaving the company."

Thus, three of the company's key executives will be leaving Nintendo of America: Senior Director of Public Relations Beth Llewelyn, Vice President, Marking and Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison. Yes, even George Harrison. It would be hard for Nintendo to swallow the trio's departure so soon, so just after E3 this year sounds like a good prediction.

"90% of those affected by the move" basically means the majority of Nintendo of America's key marketing executives. Therefore, Chairman and CEO Tatsumi Kimishima and President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime are the only two major executives remaining at Nintendo of America. Although, that doesn't mean that they're also moving their lives to the new location.

What other changes will occur and what might be the repercussions of this, is going to stay a mystery for a very long time. Nintendo gamers will find out first hand just after the company's fiscal year is over, I'm sure. But with all this fuss going around, I doubt that Nintendo is going to be working on anything new over the next few months. Wait, does this mean that Nintendo won't be rolling out a new console either? You know, the Wii isn't bound to last that long...
