The American mobile carrier Cingular Wireless and HP have announced the release of the HP iPAQ hw6920 in USA, Cingular being the first that will make this American dream come true. The handheld will provide its users five different wireless technologies, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, infrared and Bluetooth, so if you have this device, you won't be able to make excuses for not being online when needed.

Beginning with the hw6920, Cingular will start deploying its new location based solution, the TeleNav GPS Navigator, developed by TeleNav, Inc., a service that will be available to the Cingular customers via a subscription system that will come with two choices: Microsoft Pocket Streets or HP Navigation Maps and Software.

The handset is running a Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU2 on a 416 Mhz processor, and also features a 1.3 megapixel camera (not available in the hw6925 version of the handheld), a miniSD expansion memory card slot and a 240x240 pixels display.

If you are the type of individual that likes to know its mobile data stored on its handheld is safe even in case it is stolen, you will be glad to know that this little "devil" comes with integrated Messaging and Security Pack, a feature that enables the user to remotely wipe the data and also remotely control the IP policies on the stolen device.

Alain Debost, director of the HP Handheld Business Unit - North America, said that "HP is making it simple for customers to stay connected and work effectively when on the move. By combining the iPAQ hw6920 series wireless email, voice and fast data access with Cingular's expansive network, we are allowing customers to tap into the information and rich content they want, when they want it."

Also, Cathy Quaciari, the director of Cingular Wireless B2B devices, declared that "the HP iPAQ hw6920 series is a powerful communications tool that will give our business customers multiple ways to stay connected to important information. Whether it's through a wide area, local area or Bluetooth connection, customers will be able to access their email and other corporate data while having location-based capabilities with the device's built-in GPS receiver. It's yet another jewel in the long and fruitful collaborative alliance between HP and Cingular."

The HP iPAQ hw6920 will be available in Cingular's stores and in all its commercial channels beginning with October 31st and you will be able to take it home if you give Cingular 359.99$ and, of course, make yourself their customer by signing a two year service agreement.
