Windows Mobile Device Center is lagging behind Vista. While the operating system has reached Release Candidate 2 stage, WMDC Beta 3 is designed for Vista Release Candidate 1. But with Vista build 5744 opening to a limited number of testers, while RC1 is released to in excess of 5 million testers, the WMDC developing team's strategy is to reach out to the largest audience.

"The Windows Mobile Device Center Beta simplifies managing media between your Windows Mobile powered device and your desktop PC. With the picture acquisition wizard, you can easily tag and transfer all of the pictures from your Windows Mobile powered device to your desktop PC's Windows Photo Gallery. Microsoft Windows Media Player helps you keep the music on your Windows Mobile powered device up-to-date," stated Microsoft.

Delivering support for Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices and compatibility with Vista RC1, Windows Mobile Device Center Beta 3 comprises a number of enhancements such as streamlined setup, robust synchronization, photo management, media synchronization, file browsing and improved GUI. Microsoft has stripped down the partnership wizard focusing on delivering simplicity and improved management while fine tunning business-critical data and media synchronization.

"The Windows Mobile Device Center Beta combines an efficient business-data synchronization platform with a compelling user experience. Windows Mobile Device Center Beta helps you to quickly set up new partnerships, synchronize business-critical information such as e-mail, contacts and calendar appointments, and easily manage your synchronization settings," added the Redmond Company in the product's description.
