EA wants more money

As you've probably guessed it, Command & Conquer: Kane Edition is a collector's edition of the upcoming real-time strategy game from EA, C&C Tiberium Wars. Besides the new C&C game, this special edition will be stuffed full of extra exclusive content.

By the looks of it, Kane Edition will come with an extra DVD featuring a behind the scenes documentary, some deleted scenes and my favorite, bloopers from the live action video shoots. On top of this, if you get this Tiberium Wars special edition, you will get a series of gameplay strategy videos from the game designers, five wallpapers and exclusive in-game content such as five new multiplayer maps and three unique unit skins (one for each of the three factions in the game).

Kotaku reports that this C&C collector's edition will ship at the same time as the standard Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars game, namely in March of next year. The official statement of Mike Verdu, Vice President and Executive Producer at EALA goes something like this: "The Command & Conquer fans are among the most dedicated in the world. It's very exciting to be able to create a special bonus edition of C&C 3 with our fans in mind" and continues "The exclusive maps, strategy tutorials, special unit skins and 'making of' video provide hours of enjoyment to anyone who loves Command & Conquer. The 'blooper reel' is just flat out funny. I can't wait for Command & Conquer fans to get their hands on this game."

As much as I like the Command & Conquer series, I couldn't help but puke once I've read this statement. EA creating something with fans in mind? C'mon! EA wants nothing more than to capitalize as much as possible. They have picked the right color for the Tiberium Wars cover (green), as it is the same color of their main interest.
