Looks like basketball fans won't have a reason to buy a PS3, as the main basketball simulator, NBA Live 07, won't be coming to Sony's next-gen console anytime soon.

Although is was presented with great fuss at this year's E3 by EA Sports as a main PS3 title, emphasizing the differences between the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 versions, NBA Live failed to deliver and its PS3 launch has been delayed.

According to GameSpot, EA sports has explained that they delayed the PS3 launch of NBA 07, because they needed more time for coping with the ambitious design. EA Sports representatives also said that we should expect the game to come out on the PS3 next season. But there will still be some basketball sims available on the PS3 starting from day one of the release. The list includes basketball titles like: Sony's NBA 07 and 2K's Sports NBA 2K7.

All of us are keeping our fingers crossed for the PS3 version of NBA Live 07, as the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions were full of glitches and received very poor review scores. For example, IGN rated it with 4.9 points out of 10. The PSP and Xbox 360 versions of the game managed to score higher marks, receiving 6 points out of 10.
