Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is getting ready to bring to the market a new smartphone in the Bold series, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9780, which has just emerged in a new video hands-on.

The new mobile phone was spotted into the wild before, both in a series of photos and in some video previews, but now we can have a closer look at what it should come to the market with.

The new video comes emerged on the Internet over at BGR, and is expected to become the Bold 9700 replacement in about one month or so.

On the outside, the new model seems almost identical with the older Bold 2. the only visual difference BGR reports is “a glossy jet black bezel.”

Some of the previous leaks and rumors on this device suggested that we're looking at an upgraded application processor being packed inside it, something confirmed by the performance levels it can deliver.

The known / rumored specs on this handset point towards a 624 MHz application processor, 512MB of RAM, a 2.44-inch display that boasts a 480 x 360-pixel resolution, or a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash.

The popular BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard is present on the handset's front, while Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G capabilities have been also included into the mix.

On top of that, we should note that the smartphone is set to arrive on shelves with RIM's new BlackBerry 6 OS, as well as with the new Webkit browser the company packed inside the platform.

It appears that the handset can boot up pretty fast, and that it can provide users with a pretty appealing experience after all, making it a nice addition to the Bold family.

Unfortunately, no info on when it would become available for purchase has emerged for the time being, though it might not be too long before RIM decides to announce it officially.

In the meantime, take a look at the video below to learn more on the new BlackBerry Bold 9780, or head over to BGR to see more photos with the device.
