Computer maker Acer, which already announced plans to come to the market with a wide range of mobile phones during the ongoing year, announced recently that its Acer F900 smartphone would soon hit the UK market. The handset's launch in the UK follows the release of a larger number of devices in Singapore and shows the company's commitment to become one of the largest mobile phone makers in the industry.

The Acer F900 has been unveiled as part of the company's Tempo Smartphone Series and comes to the market with the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. One of the main features of the handset is its ability to offer fast access to the Internet, and the inclusion of Internet Explorer Mobile 6 with support for JavaScript and Adobe Flash Lite shows that it will be capable of providing a leveraged browsing experience.

The specification list of the Acer F900 includes a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display able to boast a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, a built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g support, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP capabilities and 3.75G HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity.

In addition, the handset also comes with an innovative widget-based Acer 2.0 User Interface that is meant to allow for easy one-hand navigation and provide vivid 3D animation and one-touch phone calls. Moreover, the handset also sports Acer’s exclusive easy-to-use virtual Easy Keyboard, as well as a series of Google mobile services such as Google Search, Google Maps and YouTube.

The 117.5 x 63.5 x 12.9 mm device that weighs 150g with battery is currently showcased at the Computex expo in Taipei. According to the news, the Acer F900 will hit the UK market at the price of £429 (around $685), though no exact release date has been unveiled.
